450gsm Emulsion Or Powder Fiberglass Chopped Strand Mat For Reinforcement
Introdcution of Fiberglass Chopped Strand
Fiberglass chopped strand mat, briefly as CSM, is a kind of reinforcing product that made from continuous fiberglass strand, which is chopped into a certain length, distributed in an random and non-directional position and bonded with binders. It is suitable for hand lay-up, mold press, filament winding and mechanical forming etc., such as GRP processes. The main products include kinds of panels, boats, sanitary ware, water tank, anticorrosive engineering products, storge tank, automobile parts and cooling towers etc.
Fiberglass chopped strand mat is made up of short randomly oriented strands of fiber that are held together with a styrene binder. When polyester or vinyl ester resin is added, the binder dissolves and the fibers can be moved around. Mat is great for molds or parts where thickness is needed. If strength is needed, layer the mat between woven fiberglass cloth.

Application of Fiberglass Chopped Strand
Fiberglass Chopped Strand Mat is most frequently used with polyester resin to quickly build thickness for parts and between layers of fabric for building molds. It can be used alone or in conjunction with fiberglass fabrics, or woven roving, in larger fabrications.
Fiberglass Chopped strand mat is very economical and offers good stiffness. However, for greater strength and a lower weight product biaxials and woven cloth fabrics are generally used. All the following mats are compatible for use with polyester resins and vinyl ester resin.
